The red remembrance poppy is an emblem of Remembrance Day. You may fold this origami poppy and wear it as a poppy pin.
Use approximately a 4-inch (10 cm) square of 2-colour paper, starting with red side down in order to get red petals. The other side of paper (black in our case) will be visible in the centre of the poppy.

The diameter of the finished flower will be about 1/2 of a side of the initial square, as pictured. To make a poppy pin, you’ll also need a pin itself, naturally.   If you have no paper in black and red colours, you may use white-red paper or 1-colour red paper and paint the black centre or paste a piece of black paper as shown.
Start with the side of the colour of the poppy centre up. Valley fold the square in half from corner to corner and make the diagonal fold-line. Unfold it. Make the second diagonal fold-line.
