The kusudama consists of three shells. Use 3 squares of paper, identical in size. You will also need paper glue.

This time, divide each vertical section in half by mountain folding. Then, pleat the rectangle along the existing fold-lines into the 16 equal sections.   This should be the result. Open out the side flaps as shown.   Compress the model in the middle and valley fold the edges as shown.
