The whole convention and origami exhibition was arranged at Fashion Institute of Technology in the very center of New York City. |

We came to the States a few days before the convention to visit our very good origami friend Rachel Katz on Long Island, as well as to have a tour to Wang Center in Stony Brook, a place of a big Oriland exhibition planned in this August. Then, on early morning of June 22, we all arrived to New York City and settled right opposite the Fashion Institute of Technology. |
The Fashion Institute of Technology is situated in the center of New York City and is just in a few blocks from Madison Square Garden and Times Square, which is a good location for the origami exhibition and the convention itself. We started setting the Oriland exposition up from the very morning. We did some pre-assembling of the ships at Rachel’s house, so, in this way, we were able to mount the Oriland display just in one day. |

The entire exhibition was ready by the evening of June 22 and presented a vast variety of origami designs by origami-artists from America, Europe and Asia. The Oriland exposition was spread out on 10 meters along the whole wall of the exhibition room. |
The Oriland presentation was all new, never shown in the USA before. It started with a newly developed Paper Sea Adventure part, featuring Treasure Island, Sailing Ships, fishes and undersea area. Also the Oriland display included Oribana arrangements and Greetings Cards section. Before opening the exhibition, there was a photo session, so the authors and photographers could make good shots. |
