Oriland Workshops and Demonstration
X International Convention of Asociación Española de Papiroflexia (A.E.P.) and 25th A.E.P. Anniversary, El Escorial, Spain, April 28 – May 1, 2007
The convention was over. But the exhibition lasted one more day. Alejandro from Madrid group took care of us almost all the time and this day he took us to mountains to the famous place called “Seat of Philip II”, from where the monarch could monitor the building of the monastery at 16th century. Indeed, this is a good place to observe the royal monastery and all El Escorial. Practically, there are two cities: higher - San Lorenzo de El Escorial with the monastery and lower - El Escorial itself. What a picturesque place!
At the last day of the exhibition, there were a lot of visitors. Some people came at fourth times, each time bringing friends and families with them. On the next day, we demounted the exhibition and packed it carefully for safely surviving the flight over the Atlantic Ocean back to Canada.
The last day of the whole trip we spent in Madrid. There was a holiday for Comunidad of Madrid, so there were many holiday activities all around. Juan Pablo and Alejandro showed us significant places of Madrid, including the beautiful fountains and royal palaces. They were with us from our arriving till the very departure. ¡Muchas gracias por su hospitalidad, amigos!
So, we say “Goodbye” to Madrid and Spain. It was a very good convention and exhibition to remember!
