Oriland Authors were invited to be special guests on The 5th International South-East Origami Festival 2002
Workshop, Invited Talk and Demonstration
The 5th International South-East Origami Festival, Charlotte, NC, USA, September 24-30, 2002
A merry-go-round of the festival began to whirl: Folding Zone, Street Festival, Shopping Emporium, Paper Playground etc. Carolina Rooftop Buffet appeared as an informal continuation of the Folding zone but with a lot of food. Later, all the folks moved up to the Origami Variety Show with Jonathan Baxter as a master of ceremony, it was a lot of fun.
The last chord of the public festival for us was our 'Cultural Series Oribana' workshop. We had a full class of students; among them were some origami celebrities such as Tomoko Fuse, Dave Brill, Makoto Yamaguchi and others.
It was a very good audience, we spent 5 nice hours of teaching flowers and a vase, instead of the planned three. (The photo by Dave Brill )
The results were very pleasing and it seems all were satisfied. With some of students we had a final group photo. (The photo by MaryAnn Scheblein-Dawson)
