Exhibition ORILAND Charles B. Wang Center, Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, NY, USA, August 1 - 8, 2007
"A mind-blowing exhibition by Yuri and Katrin Shumakov features Origami clowns and goblins, beautiful flower arrangements (Oribana) and sprawling medival castles. This exhibition is a visual feast of amazing creativity, artistry and talent."
La Magic Kingdom is famous by its magnificent architecture and, of course, by its magic: you can meet magicians of all kinds here. From Exhibition Guestbook: “Truly impressive & beautiful – inspiring!”
Magic Castle is a huge paper building with Byzantine-Oriental influences, which featured soaring spaces and splendid decoration. It was built from 2800 pieces of paper! and is about 1 meter (3 feet) high.
Near the castle, there are Magic gardens where the magicians meet each other to exchange their experience and learn new spells. Tourists from all over the Oriland come here to see wonders of La Magic.
The gardens at La Magic’s waterfront. The goblins from the neighboring kingdom also are visiting La Magic; they want to know more about magic and also learn some magic spells.
La Magic’s residential area is a great and quiet place to live, so it has been built over with Magicians Houses. Each house demonstrates the distinctive La Magic architecture, each about 10 inches (25 cm) high and folded from 158 sheets of paper.
The water channel comes to the very Magic Castle, so ships can come closely and the royal persons can have their sea voyages. We, meanwhile, are also heading to our next destination - Goblington Kingdom. From Exhibition Guestbook: “This work is absolutely gorgeous, very inspiring & with passion.”
