Exhibition ORILAND Charles B. Wang Center, Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, NY, USA, August 1 - 8, 2007
"A mind-blowing exhibition by Yuri and Katrin Shumakov features Origami clowns and goblins, beautiful flower arrangements (Oribana) and sprawling medival castles. This exhibition is a visual feast of amazing creativity, artistry and talent."
As you enter in the exhibition room, SunCity spreads out before your eyes. Along with its prominent Sun Castle, this kingdom has an amusement park with Big Wheel and Stegosaur’s Skeleton Exposition. From Exhibition Guestbook: “I am inspired by your really pretty + cool origami”
Yes, this is exhibition in exhibition :) Orilanders are preparing Stegosaur’s Skeleton Exposition, which is traveling from kingdom to kingdom to amaze the public. This Skeleton was folded from 80 sheets of paper without any glue, of course.
Big Wheel is a huge hit in Oriland. It was constructed from 162 sheets of paper and it really can turn. The Wheel is rather high, 24 inches (60 cm), so Orilanders can observe even neighboring kingdoms from its top.
The Castle of SunCity is a majestic paper building, about 1 meter (3 feet) high. It was constructed from 350 pieces of paper. Its airy style and delicate detailing attracted visitors very much.
Near the Sun Castle, there are nice Fuchsia trees. The king and queen just came out of the castle to have a royal promenade in the garden.
Orilanders love SunCity’s gardens and often meet each other on Orchid Alley. After pleasant staying in SunCity, now, our way lies to La Magic Kingdom.
