SHAWL FOLD

It is a traditional origami base. When a square of paper is folded in half along its diagonal, it is called a shawl form or diaper or triangle fold. The Shawl fold is used to develop a whole range of folds and bases and to make many origami models.

Use a square of paper, colored side down. Turn the square of paper around so it looks like a diamond, and use its diagonal axis. Valley fold it in half from top to bottom, thereby making a triangle.		To complete the shawl form, press it flat along its top edge. Here is the completed shawl fold.
