This Simple Rose is our developing of the module of the classical kusudama. It consists of two modules. Use a 10 cm (4 inch) square of paper for big module and a 5 cm (2 inch) square of paper for smaller one.
|Valley fold the inner two edges of each small square over, so they lie along their respective square's middle fold-line. Press them flat and unfold them.||Mountain fold the four corners behind as shown, thereby making little triangles on the reverse side. Press the paper flat.||Open out the flaps slightly, and start rolling the flaps on a thin cylindrical object, for example, a plastic knitting needle, as far as it will go.|
