Molucella is an attractive and unusual plant of a small genus of aromatic herbs of the mint family (Lamiaceae), order Lamiales. The scientific name is Molucella laevis, but commonly it known as Bells-of-Ireland. The rich olive green bells formed along tall, strong, green stems are not really flowers but enlarged calyxes. The true flowers, tiny, fragrant, and whitish, are deep within the bells. Molucella makes an interesting, delightful view with highlighted tones and various shades of green, whose dramatic spikes are ideal as outline material for oribana arrangements.
