Kaffir lily is a vigorous and clump-forming plant with erect, narrow, grass-like foliage and slender, bright, showy spikes of open star-flowers with cup-shaped petals. The botanical name of this plant is Schizostylis, which is derived from the Greek words ‘schizo’ (meaning ‘to divide’) and stylis (meaning ‘a column’ or ‘style’), since the style (a part of a pistil) in this species is divided into three parts. These eye-catching Kaffir lilies will add an exciting touch to a bright Oribana arrangement in an Afro-style, and will look good combined with yellow and blue flowers.
