The Heleniums are tall growing autumnal plants, which are closely related to the Sunflower. Helenium was named after Helen of Troy, this also is commonly known as Helen's Flower. Another common name of this plant, ’Sneezeweed’, derives from its historical use in the making of snuff from its dried leaves. The plants produce large clusters of flowers of a warm color range of autumnal shades - yellow, gold, red, brown and terracotta. Fan-shaped back-swept bright petals around a prominent central globe adorn these 2-inch (5 cm) wide daisy-like flowers.
