The Edelweiss is known as an exotic mountain flower. Translating from German, the word ‘Edelweiss’ means ‘Noble white’, but the colorings of the flowers are not only white, but also grey or cream. The Edelweiss is the floral emblem of Switzerland. This flower has a Latin name – ‘Leontopodium’, which is translated as ‘Lion's Paw’. Indeed its flower in a star-like form appears to be made from flannel or velvet. The paper variant of the Edelweiss flower consists of several elements: a corolla element, three circles of thin petals, a sepal and a stalk with lancet leaves.
