Daisy (Leucanthemum) of the genus Chrysanthemum and the Aster family is a beautiful flower with a yellow center and white petals, always exuding modest simplicity, charm and friendliness. Its official name ‘Leucanthemum’ derives from the Greek language and means ‘white flower’. The English name means ‘day's eye’ in Anglo-Saxon, reflecting the manner this flower opens its petals with the sun and closes them at night. Daisy is well-known for the "He loves me, he loves me not" ditty, a practice from Victorian times to find out how a certain person feels about you. Daisy is also known as ‘Ox-eye daisy’ or ‘Marguerite’.
