Clematis is from the Greek word klema, meaning "climbing". This remarkable ornamental plant is the genus of perennial, chiefly climbing shrubs of the buttercup family with a great number of species with attractive flowers, often with a delicate scent. A decorative effect of Clematis flowers creates from painted sepals: the flower itself has no petals. There are a few types of blossom: star-like, cruciate, disk-like with 4-5-6 and more sepals. Our paper Clematis flower has 4 sepals and a seed head. Such form of flowers meets among numerous species, including wild Clematis, Clematis Montana, some varieties of Clematis Jackmanii and others.
