The Charlotte flower was created during the South-East Origami Festival of 2002 at Charlotte, North Carolina. So, the flower was named after the city of Charlotte. The Charlotte flower is a paper variety of Atragene alpina, which belongs to the Atragene genus of perennial, climbing shrubs of the buttercup family (Ranunculaceae). A charming, large flower consists of a central true flower and four pointed petals in rich shades of blue, mauve, pink and white, even with paler margins, depending on varieties.
