The name Anemone derives from the Greek word Ďanemosí, meaning Ďwindí, thatís why it sometimes called Windflower. Flower petals of many Anemone species are easily falling when the wind blows. Anemone Nemorosa, also known as Wood Anemone, is an elegant spring plant with white innocent star-like flowers. As in all the Anemones, there are no true petals, what seem so are really the sepals, which have assumed the coloring and characteristics of petals. There is a line of garden varieties of Anemone Nemorosa with flowers of different colorings: pink, blue, violet, red and even pale bluish purple.
